Due to a problem with using the Transifex client for pulling in new translations into our repository before the last release, gPodder 2.17 was missing some translations that existed in previous versions. This release - gPodder 2.18 - fixes this issue and re-adds all missing translations. The YouTube bugfix that has been the reason for the 2.17 release is obviously also included in this release.

Thanks to Götz Waschk and Tony Mancill for bringing this issue to my attention quickly. Packages for different distributions will appear shortly. Enjoy this new gPodder release!
Hi;
ReplyDeleteThanks for your great work at first. according to the commit[1] that fixes missing translation bug, You have also removed the tr translation (data/po/tr.po, not data/po/tr_TR.po). Is there a special reason for removing Turkish translation or was that just a mistake that couldn't catch your eye?
I wonder because I'm packaging[2] gpodder for Pardus GNU/Linux. Thanks again, keep up your good work ;)

Hi Hailsematary,
ReplyDeleteNo, it must have been an accidental omission. Either I'm just using it wrong, or it does not work as one would expect. Anyway, please feel free to tell me which translation files are missing / wrong and where I can find the correct / complete one, and I'll update it in the repos.
Thanks :)
Thomas
(With "it" being the Transifex Client tool "tx".)
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply,
ReplyDelete-/usr/share/locale/cs_CZ/LC_MESSAGES/gpodder.mo
-/usr/share/locale/es_ES/LC_MESSAGES/gpodder.mo
-/usr/share/locale/tr/LC_MESSAGES/gpodder.mo
-/usr/share/locale/tr_TR/LC_MESSAGES/gpodder.mo
files are missing, I think adding /usr/share/locale/tr/LC_MESSAGES/gpodder.mo would be ok for the Turkish translation. To test the locale, you can start the program in tr_TR.UTF-8 , any word with çişüğ would be the proof of alive Turkish translation :)
Thanks for your kind response, gpodder rocks \m/
Hailsematary: Thanks - can you please file this as a bug report at http://bugs.gpodder.org/, so we can track progress on that easily?
